What I Don’t Like About Clickup and Why I Changed

When I originally signed up to a free ClickUp plan — I was hoping that it would be my final resting place. For the half a year it has served me well and I would still be with it — if it wasn’t for one thing. The sync issues.

I am whiling to admit that it may be just the free plan or where my modem is located. However, I also notice it when I am on my mobile data sometimes. Either way, it was still a pain as sometimes I had tasks I knew I had completed not sync over properly.

There were a few other things that I understand were the reason people liked them (set up tags on every space and having a long list of future tasks). For my brain though — this is just overwhelming and I wish I could collapse it and open it when I want.

It is mainly because of the sync issues that I changed my to do app again. This time I went straight to TickTick. I have used this app before and quite like it. This time, though, I am exploring some features that I used again, like habits, and some new ones. Habits in TickTick is what it says on the tin — it is a habit tracker.

The two other functions I am exploring are the Eisenhower Matrix and the Pomodoro timers. The concept isn’t new to me, but I never really seen a use for them. Now, though, with different things I need to track — I am finding the matrix useful.

Hopefully, this will be the last switch for quite a while.
