My Thoughts On Logseq Databases

In the last few weeks I have seen posts about the new version of Logseq coming out soon — Logseq Databases. I like the idea of it; however, I think there are multiple reasons that I think while I am going to stick with Logseq. I am going to pass on the databases within the app. I will explain my feelings behind my choice.

THE WAY I HAVE LOGSEQ NOW

If you have read any of my previous posts about my PKM journey — it took a long time to get to a place where I’m finally happy. I spent months going back and fourth between apps, thinking I need all the bells and whistles and finally realising what works for me.

Logseq works for my brain. However, my neurodiversity means I have a threshold for overwhelm. It took me ages to realise that my brain loves colours, emojis and lists. The way I have Logseq set up now uses all those things. Adding databases I feel may bring it to overwhelm in my brain, so instead I am doing this.

QUERIES IN LOGSEQ

At first I wasn’t sold on queries. It wasn’t that I didn’t see the use for them, it was more the coding that made it hard. Since then the updates to the application have made it easier to create queries.
